Quality Care
Whānau Māori have access to high quality care and experience.
Poor access to high-quality care and experiences for whānau represents a fundamental health system issue, rather than a specific condition or problem. It influences enrolment and engagement with care services, access to care, the building of trust, and the establishment of outcomes focused therapeutic relationships.
Addressing this issue can lead to necessary improvements in cancer and long-term condition management, mental health, addictions, workforce development, and investment in higher-quality services. Quality in this priority encompasses both clinical and cultural aspects of care, each playing a crucial role in building trust throughout the journey of care.
